  definition: a thought-terminating cliche is a commonly used phrase, sometimes passing as folk wisdom, used to quell cognitive dissonance.. here's mine: we don't believe that way ..... we are christians in this home..

  Does God's foreknowledge take away from free will?

  just by knowing what will happen, that doesn't mean that we can prevent or cause something to happen.

  my knowing that does not prevent them the free will of making the choice.. it's the same with god.

  if god is not restricted to existence in the present, then the future is known by god because god indwells the future as well as the present and the past.

  How does the WT feel about dating methods?

  i'm talking about dating methods that scientists use such as carbon 14, potassium-argon, rehydoxylation dating, etc.... .

  i know that many christian fundamentalist groups speak of how false early dates can be reached by many of these dating systems.

  but i was wondering how much the wt rejects them.

  i just had a dream last night that i was watchtower reader again on a sunday.

  it was weird because the color scheme seemed like a zombie-green.

  my old coboe was conducting the study and he seemed like kind of a jerk.

  does anyone feel messed up sexually because of being brought up as jw? like you have missed out, etc?

  hiya,.

  i'm new to this forum but just wanted to talk to somebody about this.. i was brought up as a jw and left just over a year ago.

  i'm now 26 and feel messed up sexually.

  Felt a lot of guilt over stupid stuff like hidden Playboys and crap like that.

  I agree with the above comments about the JW tradition of marrying young. So many marriages based on lust, doomed to crumble just a few years later due to the stress of reality.
